Whibble Reef - Grenada

This is a fantastic divesite for experienced divers.

Advanced drift dive due to currents and depth (the sand wall descends to 167ft near Bianca C). This dive is generally the shallow leg of a multilevel dive from the Bianca C.

Depths range from 60 to 100 feet (18 to 30 m). It is a drift dive for the advanced diver accustomed to dealing with strong current.

The wreck of the Bianca C is direct on the south of Whibble Reef.

The water carries you swiftly along the reef, with small sand sharks, barracuda and larger grouper browsing among the coral heads. Schooling fish including bigger jacks are common, coral formations, occasional Nurse Shark, turtles, Eagle Rays, lobsters ....

Reviews

The top is at 17m and the maximum depth is limited by the good sense of the diver. The base of the reef is at 50m but once you reach 30m most of the activity and life are above you.

This is usually a gentle drift dive, sometimes faster and only occasionally slack.

Soft corals and attendant fish life cover the reef, but this dive is best along the shoulder of the drop off, where shoals of fish, horse eye jacks, rainbow runner and palemeto, swim in from deeper water, swirl into the shallows and back out into the blue.
