Quarter Wreck Grenada![]() Picture by Rik Vercoe Description: Cargo ship Length: Depth: 23 metres Visibility: 12 metres Rating: *** South West of the island Grenada. In the approach area to the Bianca C with large coral formations and schooling fish. This is an interesting and popular dive that can be done as a night dive. The Quarter wreck is the stern section of a cargo vessel that lies next to Grand Reef, off Quarantine Point. The propeller angled in mid water, the deckhouse and the engine room can all be explored. Marine life includes barracuda, angelfish, goatfish, snappers, lobsters and moray eels. ReviewsThis makes for a chilled day dive but it is more interesting at night. You should see around 8 lobsters if you search in the broken up wreck and amongst the coral. Look to the surface and watch for passing squid that come from the deep to feed at night. A huge Spider Crabby type of crustacean thing with a huge claw was scurrying over some brain coral. Lots of large urchins were also out feeding and a mass of silvery fish flickering in my torchlight.Carina Hall, PADI Divemaster (from divesitedirectory) |
