Boss Reef Divesite on Grenada![]() Picture: Carina Hall Location: Near Belmont, St Georges Description: Reef / drift Depth: 23 metres (75 feet) Visibility: 15 metres (50 feet) Rating: *** Boss reef is an extensive reef that reaches from the red buoy outside the harbor entrance towards Point Salines. There is a vast expanse of soft brown coral trees which form an "other-worldly" landscape. There are large shoals of tropical fish, often including clouds of blue creole wrasse. Lobsters can often be seen peeking from crevices. This is a five-mile long reef that is connected to The Valleys, The Japanese Gardens and Northern Exposure. There are many sandy areas and the slope is gradual. There is not that much to see on this dive as you slowly drift along, but hanging in the blue as you ascend is quite enthralling as it holds a lot of life including shoals of fusiliers and creole wrasse. On the reef itself there may be crabs and boxfish under and around the overhangs and yellow chromis. Source : divesitedirectory |
